A family in New Delhi, India is planning the wedding of their daughter Adit (Vasedala Vasundhara Das). Her father Lalit (Nassarudinsha Naseeruddin Shah) chose the right husband for her is the son of a wealthy businessman who came back from studying in the United States. However, Adit is not happy because she also has a lover who works as a TV host and is a married man. So while she was under the supervision of her parents to prepare for the wedding, on the other hand, she had to secretly date the one she loved. The wedding also changed the lives of many people: wedding designer Dolby fell in love with maid Alice by chance; Adit's cousin fell in love with Australian students; and Adit's uncle Tega said he would support her cousin Liel to study abroad. However, Liel is not grateful, but strongly opposes her daughter's relationship with Tega, because she conceals a terrible past. This film won the Golden Lion Award for Best Picture at the 58th Venice Film Festival.
