The film "my Mother" is adapted from the novel of the same name by Finnish writer Herkiejetames. This film is set at the beginning of World War II. Finland was at war with Russia, and about 70000 children were sent to neutral Sweden, waiting for peace before returning home. The little boy in the story, because he was sent to another country, evolved to have two mothers and two families, but he didn't know which one was his real home. However, he refused to accept the new family and waited for a letter from his mother every day. And another love of the post-biological mother, the adoptive mother did not accept herself at the beginning. Until the adoptive mother understands and takes care of the little boy, the boy's feelings for the adoptive mother are also regarded as his own mother. But when the war is over, the boy needs to go back to Finland and be separated from his mother again. According to Finnish historical records, during World War II, more than 70,000 Finnish children were sent to the neutral neighbor Sweden to escape the scourge of war. After the war, most of these children returned to Finland, but nearly 15000 of them stayed in Sweden and continued to live with their adoptive parents. The film's director, Klaus Harrow, said he had long wanted to make a film about wartime child immigrants in Finland. At the 29th Cairo International Film Festival, the film won the best picture award, Hello.
