The story takes place in Paris in 1890. Henry (Jos é Ferrer) is a painter who often appears in the Moulin Rouge. When others are immersed in all kinds of lights, Henry just immerses himself in painting. By accident, Henry met a woman named Mary (Klaette Marchand Colette Marchand). After helping her out of danger, Henry was fascinated by the beautiful and cheerful Mary. With the passage of time, Henry found Mary's capriciousness and mistrust, and a hot heart gradually cooled in repeated injuries. Finally, Henry's painting career improved, and his advertising painting for Moulin Rouge received attention and recognition from the outside world. After that, Henry met the kind and hard-working landlady again. Although he had a good feeling for the landlady, the hurt Henry chose to bury his feelings at the bottom of his heart until she became someone else's bride.
