In the second half of the 18th century, a village in northeastern Japan was short of food because of low temperatures. A young girl named Rin (Yamada Xinnai) lives unyielding even though she is despised by the villagers. In her miserable life, she heard that there lived a goddess who could forgive sinners in the mountains of Zaochi Fengshan, so she prayed to her and was determined to survive in the mountains.
