There are five people in the Yamada family living in Yamano City: the head of the family, Takashi Yamada, is a clerk in the sundries class of a small company. He has some male chauvinism, often quarrelling with his wife over trifles, but is overwhelmed by his mother-in-law. Aaron's wife, Matsuko, is a full-time housewife of the same age as her husband, busy every day, taking care of the diet and daily life of a large family, but confused, often lost. Matsuko's mother is Hale and hearty, but she is Hale and hearty. The old man has always been a maverick with a fierce speech, and even the group is not afraid. The eldest son, A Sheng, is a middle school student with mediocre appearance and learning. He inherits his mother's confused character and has a lot of joy in her life. The youngest daughter, Yezi, is still a third grader in primary school. She is thin and small, she meets a group of witty family members, and is often forgotten. It is such an ordinary Yamada family that performs a wonderful life show full of fun and endless joy every day. This film is based on the four-frame cartoon of Seiichi Ishii.
