The documentary Nellie and Neting, the only Chinese lesbian in the Nazi concentration camp, won the award for best teddy bear documentary at the 72nd Berlin Film Festival. Huang Neting, the protagonist of the film, a mixed-race socialite who grew up in high society, is China's earliest female pilot and air force colonel, as well as a capable diplomat, a strong hockey player and a graceful Parisian actor, and used to be the public mistress of a feminist writer. After the fall of France, she was taken to a concentration camp to become a refugee. Nellie was the girlfriend she met in the concentration camp. Love allowed the two to survive in endless hell and spend the rest of their lives together. Nellie and Neting pieced together a charming legend with the magnificence of the first half of life and the desolation and ordinariness of the second half of life.
