A Southeast Asian government cooperated with multinational companies to develop infrastructure in backward areas. American engineer Jack (Irving Wilson Owen Wilson) is therefore sent out by the company, with his wife and daughter stationed locally to participate in the project development. Jack thought he could start a new life in Southeast Asia in the shadow of coconut trees, but angry local residents rioted because the government pocketed himself in the name of infrastructure. The government police and army fell into a state of anarchy, and public grievances quickly turned to a group of innocent foreign nationals, such as Jack, and the bloody xenophobic massacre got out of hand. Can Jack lead his family to escape from danger with the help of Hammond (Pierce Brosnan Pierce Brosnan), who has lived in Southeast Asia for decades?
