Adapted from the United States J. Kane's novel, the Postman always Rings twice, was completed in 1941. Under the condition that the script must be censored by the fascist government, Viscanti turned the abnormal love story of adultery and murder of her husband into a work full of despair and fatalism. On the one hand, the heroine from a poor family can not help but marry a fat and vulgar hotel owner, she has no courage to escape being nurtured (and humiliated from time to time), while the hero is a vagrant, he can not stand the temptation of the heroine, committed fatal crimes, difficult social living conditions, clearly set off the fate of the protagonists have no choice but to hit it off.
