Troud, a 67-year-old man, lost his love and "interest in talking to people". He is going to retire from the mountains and live alone and spend the rest of his life in peace. A chance encounter with a neighbor reminded him of the summer he spent with his father in the mountains, the last time he saw his father, and the fate of the rest of his life was forever doomed in that summer. The film is adapted by the representative work of Pell Patterson, Norway's most famous writer and candidate for the Nobel Prize for literature. the film fully absorbs the literary rhythm of the original work and gives the audience a long aftertaste.
