"Poirot" The ABC Murders

8.4

A man who put more emphasis on order than Polo appeared. Three letters, three locations, three murders, three bodies. A stands for the first person to be murdered in the city of Andover, which begins with A. B stands for the second person who was strangled, at Berkshire, which begins with B. C stands for the third person who was murdered, in the village of Dini de Vincere, which begins with C. Next to each body was a copy of a map of the three locations of ABC, all of which were specially turned to the relevant pages. While the police were busy, the fourth letter D appeared, and Poirot had to help the police find the poor target before the murder happened. Admittedly, this is one of the smartest killers that Polo has ever encountered, but he obviously, like his outstanding peers, made a fatal mistake to challenge the invincible Polo.
