In a nursing home, Mr. Gutman (Christopher Plummer Christopher Plummer), a Jew in his late twenties, wakes up moaning from his sleep. His memory is fading and even his wife's death not long ago was almost forgotten. However, his wife's departure also seemed to help him get rid of the last worry, and with the help of his friends, he secretly ran out of the nursing home. Gutman was carrying a letter from a friend, recording what he needed to pay attention to along the way and the greatest purpose of his trip. After several twists and turns, he finally found an old man named Rudy Cland. The other side was a German soldier in World War II when he was young, and the family's deep blood feud drove Mr Gutman to track down his enemies. The terrible memory of Auschwitz makes everyone who has experienced it bear the sins that they cannot get rid of all their lives.
