Founded in 1990, a lonely bachelor named David (Brian Landis Folkins) sought to extricate himself from the daily fatigue of taking care of his elderly mother (Kathleen Brady). When he was looking for a partner through a video dating service, he found a strange VHS videotape called Rent-A-Pal. The tape, hosted by the charming and charismatic Wil Wheaton, provides him with much-needed companionship, sympathy and friendship. But Andy's friendship came at a price, and David desperately paid the price for the entrance fee.
