In order to allow his father who suffers from Alzheimer's disease to return to normal life, Will Roman (James Franco) has been committed to the development of a genetic drug called "Cure" and continues to conduct drug trials on gorillas. While the company had lost confidence, Will continued to complete experiments at home and achieved success with a gorilla named Caesar. With the help of primatologist Carolyn (Freida Pinto), Will discovers that Caesar's intelligence has greatly improved. However, human society was never able to accept Caesar, who had extremely high intelligence, and Caesar was sent to an orangutan nursing home. The cruel treatment in the shelter allowed Caesar to use his wisdom to fight and finally rescued the other gorillas who were imprisoned at the same time, and used Cure on them all. The war between a group of highly intelligent orangutans and humans began. The film was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 84th Academy Award.
