After the outbreak of the Civil War, Neeson's Confederate officer Carver leads his four entourage to murder, while Pierce Brosnan's Gideon flees all the way. The battle between the two sides began in the snowy Rocky Mountains of Nevada and went all the way to the desolate New Mexico desert. In the process, Carver's entourage died one after another, and the two protagonists were tossed around like no one. Gideon, dressed in heavy leather, warmed himself against the fire on the snow-capped mountain, surrounded by listless old horses and life-saving rifles. The three brothers listened silently to the wind until Carver's bullet flew over Gideon's head. Gideon's panic was aroused. Just as he ran panicked into the jungle, the second bullet got into his left arm. He lost his balance and staggered down the waterfall. When Gideon rose from the piercing river and picked out bullets from flesh and blood with a sharp knife, a primitive American society showed itself in this cruel scene and threw a huge question mark to the audience-why did the feud between the two men arise? The director hinted to the audience that Carver's deep hatred of Gideon may symbolize the explosive root of the civil war.
