Middle-aged Cui Haijia (Jin Yunshi) is a super cynical uncle director who questions all national policies, mocks the patriotic enthusiasm of fans once every four years, and accuses the government of exploiting the people. Although his perverse behavior is tolerated by his virtuous wife an Fengxi (Wu Yanxiu), it also brings a lot of trouble to his family. Few people patronize the small shop in his family, and sea armour himself is taken care of by the public security department as a red element. With more and more pressure and crowding around, Haijia brought his wife, son Naro and youngest daughter Na to his hometown's southern island to start a new life in the abandoned houses. Fresh air, free life, and the old indignation Qinghai A's struggle for democracy and freedom is not over yet. The film is based on the original work of the same name by Japanese writer Yoshiro Okada, which was previously featured on the screen by the late Japanese director Yoshihiro Morita.
