At the end of the 22nd century, unknown alien creatures known as "Camilas" occupied Mars and continued to fire planetary bombs with strong radioactive material to the Earth, resulting in countless deaths and injuries, endangered, and forced to go underground to survive. At this critical juncture, humans formed a cosmic fleet on an expedition to Mars, which was almost wiped out, and the Yamato that escaped became mankind's last hope. At the same time, a mysterious device crashed across thousands of miles of the Milky way and was found to be able to eliminate radioactive material. In order to seek help from the highly intelligent creatures of the Magellanic Nebula Iskandar, the owner of the device, humans decided to put all their eggs in one basket and send Yamato on the expedition. Gu Jin (Takuya Kimura), a member of the former Space Fleet who lost his brother in the Battle of Mars, was called back and became a member of the great historical moment with a group of friends. And Gamilas, who learned about human movements, also launched a wave of deadly attacks. This film is based on Matsumoto's original work of the same name.
