Directed by Nadav Lapid, it tells the story of a man who escapes from Israel to France to interact and live only by a French dictionary, only to feel rejected in a long distance. Yoyaf, an Israeli veteran (Tom Messier), longed for a free and open France, but was ransacked after coming to Paris. Seeing that he was about to fall into the street, Yoyaf met a wealthy couple, writer Emile and girlfriend Caroline, and was lucky to be rescued. Joyaf, who had nothing, simply decided to be a Frenchman from now on. He began to refuse to speak Hebrew (his mother tongue) and actively learned French by reciting synonyms to integrate fully into his ideal country. Interestingly, his tragic experiences in the army have become an excellent subject matter in Emile's works, and his physique comparable to that of Roman statues has become the target of Caroline's fantasy every night, making endless use of him to satisfy his sexual desires. The trio then developed an extremely delicate triangular relationship.
