North Ellis, visiting his long-lost brother Tetro (Vincent Gallo Vincent Gallo). Tetro's girlfriend, psychiatrist Miranda (Maribel Waldo Maribel Verd ú) takes good care of Benny, but the emotional Tetro is hot and cold to his brother and forbids him to talk about any family-related matters. Benny discovers Tetro's unfinished drama manuscript, collates it, and publishes it at the end, which is praised by Tetro's antagonistic literary critic "alone" (played by Carmen Mullah Carmen Maura). Furious, Tetro finally agreed to take the troupe to the Patagonia Drama Festival "alone", but disappeared halfway. The secrets of the family, the love and hate of the past are all in the spotlight. The film won the Spanish Film Writers Circle, the Spanish Fotogramas de Plata Award and the Goya Award for Best Actress (Mary Bell Waldo).
