The missionary Wallis Dewey had a beautiful wife. He preached in Texas and inspired a large number of followers. But one day his life changed dramatically: he discovered that his wife was having an affair with another young missionary and made the young missionary into a vegetable in a moment of exuberance. He hid his name, fled to a distant town, and repented for his past from the bottom of his heart. There he became a respected missionary, but was later discovered by his wife.
