Orleans was paralyzed after the hurricane. In the local prison, all the guards and prisoners have been evacuated, but one prisoner has been left here. Police officer Terrence McDonnell (Nicholas Cage Nicolas Cage) and his colleagues found him when they inspected the cell, and Terence helped. This heroic act promoted him to lieutenant, but his spine was also seriously damaged and the pain could only be relieved by medicine. Terence was tortured by the growing pain that made drugs ineffective. He had to resort to drugs, his physical and economic condition was on the brink of collapse, and his temper was getting worse and worse. A heroic policeman gradually depraved. Soon after, a massacre occurred in the city, and the drug lord Dafet was a major suspect. Terence was ordered to investigate the case, and in the process, his long-lost conscience gradually revived. This film won the Christopher D. Smithers Foundation Special Award at the 2009 Venice Film Festival.
