In a snowy town, policewoman Hazel (Susan Sarandon Susan Sarandon) visits an old man she knows, only to find that the old man has been brutally cut his throat and died miserably. However, this was just the beginning. Two days later, another farmer died in his stable. His stomach was removed and abandoned in the wilderness, which was eaten by wild dogs. Although the two cases are far apart and have nothing in common, Hazel firmly believes that it was done by the same person. According to a series of photos of murder victims targeted at the elderly, Hazel and his colleagues found that their mouths were deliberately made out of what the killer was talking about. Hazel finds Father Price (Donald Sutherland Donald Sutherland), who is proficient in Latin, and learns that the series of cases are related to banned Catholic prayers, in which 12 believers sacrifice themselves for someone's resurrection. The terrible consciousness is going on quietly.
