Composer and conservatory professor John Russell (George C. Scott) spends a holiday with his wife and daughter, but a sudden car accident kills his wife and daughter. The lonely and sad John left New York to teach at a university in Seattle. He found an old house that had been idle for 12 years. Although it was dilapidated, the quiet environment was with John's music creation. But when he moved in, he found that there was a strange sound coming from the house around 6 o'clock in the morning, and soon John was even more frightened to realize that there was still a ghost of a child living in the house. At the sign of the ghost, John began to consciously explore the secret behind the house.
