There are many translations of the science fiction The Day Of The Triffids in China. But whatever its name, slightly qualified sci-fi readers must have read it, because it is one of the early science fiction novels introduced into China and translated into Chinese. The novel, written by science fiction writer John Wyndham, was first published in 1951 and is one of the representative works of disaster science fiction. In the 1980s, BBC put it on the TV screen, which received a good response from the audience. Now, more than 20 years later, BBC has adapted it again into two mini-series, which will be broadcast on December 28th and 29th. The new version of the Tripod Age stars Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestley.
