In a quiet town in Japan in the 1950s, the coloring artist Tomoko Sazawa (Akira Mashima) lived together with the writer Shengo Kobayashi (Kobayashi Kobayashi), who was also a teacher, a friend and a lover. The new year was approaching, but Chiko fell ill because of the wind-cold. Sincere but hesitant small sequoia finally did not stay to wait for her, hurried home to accompany his wife and daughter to spend New Year's Eve. How desolate and haunting, a phone call seems to dispel the loneliness of the bosom son. On the other end of the phone is Ryo Kinoshita (Ayano Tsuyoshi), a young man who let Zhizi abandon her husband and daughter and choose to elope with her. The previous relationship is not over, the old love continues. From then on, whenever Xiao Sequoia returned to his home, Zhizi indulged in being with Liangtai. This is a dangerous game, no one wants to lose, no one can afford to lose. Or die together, or walk away... This film is based on the autobiographical novel of the same name written by the famous Japanese master Yoshinomi (whose real name is Hiromi Seto).
