Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman will star in a new film based on the stage play "Father" by French novelist and playwright Florine Zeller. Hopkins plays a naughty and highly independent man who, as he gets older, refuses all help from his daughter Anne (Coleman). However, this help became crucial after Anne decided to move to Paris with her partner. As his father faced a changing environment, he began to doubt the people he loved, his own thoughts, and even the structure of his reality. Zeller will direct the film and co-write the script with Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Method). Filming will start in the UK this month. The film's producers include David Parfit (Shakespeare's Love Story), Jean-Louis Levy (Lip Reading Fear]), Philip Kakazon (Fashion Pioneer Chanel), etc. The stage play, written and directed by Zeller, was first released in Paris in 2012 and won the Moliere Award for Best Stage Play. The play was later staged on Broadway in New York and the West End of London, and won both the Tony Award and the Olivier Award for Best Actor.
