A ten-year-old girl (Bertille No ë l-Bruneau) meets a fox catching voles on her way to school. From autumn to winter, the girl looked for the fox's footprints in the thick snow, but she lost her foot and broke her leg. She had to spend the whole winter indoors and read a lot about foxes. Spring is the season for fox hunting. the little girl who was worried about the fox was ecstatic to find the fox's cave and its three little foxes, but the fox sniffed out the human scent and moved the cubs overnight. The girl decided not to disturb the fox, but to sit on the beech tree and wait for it to show up.
