The 40-year-old Jerry Ferro accomplished nothing. He used to be a promising young amateur boxer, nicknamed "sledgehammer," and then worked as a construction worker and several jobs. now he coaches the evening boxing interest class in the gymnasium, and his students are middle-aged and middle class. Coach Eddie Bell asked him to fight professional boxing star Malice Blake for a few rounds, but Jerry knocked him down with a single punch, and Jerry felt he should return to boxing. From then on, he stopped living idle for 20 years and headed for the Olympic gold medal.
