This film is based on a remake of a Hollywood movie of the same name in 1984. 12-year-old Derek Parker (Jayden Smith Jaden Smith) moves from Detroit to Beijing, China with his mother (Taraji P. Hansen Taraji P. Henson) and meets Mei Ying (Han Wenwen), a Chinese girl who plays the violin in the same school. The association between Derry and Meiying caused the dissatisfaction of the small group headed by Cheng (Wang Zhenwei). In a fight, Derek was saved by Lao Han (Jackie Chan), the apartment administrator, but offended Cheng's martial arts teacher, Master Li (Yu Rongguang). Lao Han and Master Li agreed that the apprentices would compete with each other at the tournament. From then on, Derek followed Lao Han to learn Chinese kung fu, from boxing practice to personality training, a little to understand the true meaning of martial arts and life, but also established a profound friendship with Lao Han. But can Derry, who has only short-term training, win the final victory in the brutal tournament?
