Spanning nearly 200 years and three generations, the Lehman Brothers Trilogy tells the legendary epic of Lehman Brothers, a family business that changed the world. On a cold September morning in 1844, a young man from Bavaria stood by the dock in New York, dreaming of a new life in the new world. His two brothers joined him, and a history of American struggle began. 163 years later, the company they founded went bankrupt and triggered the worst financial crisis in history. The original play, written by Italian Stefano Marsini, was translated into 11 languages and put on the stage in many European countries. The English version of the Lehman Brothers Trilogy is directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes (the film "American Beauty", "007" and the drama "King Lear" and "Ferry Man"). Ben Bauer, co-artistic director of the British National Theatre, translated and adapted the script. Three representatives of the British acting school-two-time Oliver Award winner Simon Russell Bill, Tony Award nominees Ben Myers and Adam Godley played all the roles. The play, as a new play sold out early by the British National Theater in 2018, turned west in 2019.
