The background of the story is set in a fictional near future society, where the marriage and love of residents are strictly controlled. According to the regulations, for singles to be transferred to a hotel, they must find a matching partner within 45 days, and the losers will be transformed into an animal of their choice and banished to the forest. In order to extend the 45-day period, singles in the hotel will also hunt other fugitive singles in the forest. David (Colin Farrell Colin Farrell), the protagonist of the film, is sent to the hotel with a group of singles. He endures the strict rules here and is also actively looking for partners in the various dating occasions offered by the hotel. With the deadline approaching, David hasn't found a suitable partner yet. After a failed attempt to match a woman, he fled to the forest outside the hotel, where fugitive singles live. However, in this habitat where singles resist the hotel system, there is a completely different system.
