The cast of "the other side of the Wind", including John Houston, Peter Bogdanovich, Lily Palmer, and Wales's then girlfriend Olga Kodak, was filmed between 1970 and 1976, so to speak, in the last 15 years of Wells' life. His hard work is on this film. However, due to financial problems, and Wells wanted to be able to take full control of the whole process, he was unable to complete the film, leaving only a 42-minute short film and some material. Wells died in 1985, and the rights to the film were later passed to Red Road Entertainment, who believed that "the other side of the Wind", as Wells' last film, was an important part of film archaeology. If it is not brought to light, it will never be able to fully understand Wales's film career and artistic heritage. On the 100th anniversary of his birth, the film crowdfunding project was launched at a good time. A new book about the film, the Last Film of Orson Wells, was also released at the same time, with author Josh Karp talking about the other side of the Wind.
