A documentary about Harvey Milk, a gay politician chosen by time magazine as one of the representative figures of the 20th century. Harvey Milk is the first openly gay person to successfully compete for an important official in San Francisco, fighting for the civil rights of homosexuals before his death. Before he was assassinated, he had a good chance of being elected mayor of Castro, San Francisco's most famous gay neighborhood. In the 1970s, when he pushed for the passage of the first gay civil rights regulations in San Francisco, Harvey Milk and his political ally George Moscone were assassinated by Dan White, a conservative former San Francisco police officer, on November 28th, 1978, which awakened local homosexuals to make a strong reflection and response to fighting for their own rights.
