The 15-year-old girl Tracy (Ellen Page) is plain and unremarkable. Her father (Ari Cohen) is grumpy and her mother (Erin McMurtry) is a boring housewife who loves TV and cigarettes; at school, her classmates make fun of her, and the new arrival Billy (Slim Twig) seems to bring joy to the little girl who is in the throes of youth. Trish also has a 9-year-old brother named Sonny (played by Zie Souwand). The little boy obeys his sister's orders and is even willing to be trained into a puppy. Angry parents sent Cuisi to see a psychiatrist and even grounded her. During this period, Sony disappeared, and Tracy ran out of the cold house to find her poor brother... The film won the Best Actress (Ellen Page), Best Canadian Film and Best Director Awards at the 2007 Atlanta Film Festival.
