The story of the film is inspired by Allen Poe's poetry (the poet also appears in the film, played by Ben Chaplin). Accompanied by Tom Waits's narrator, Fangkimo's out-of-date novel writer is brought to a weird town in California. Was then involved in a mysterious murder. In the dream at night, a young female ghost named V (Allie Fanning) approached him. The novelist was not sure whether the murder had anything to do with the young woman, but thanked the incident for providing him with story material. Finally he found the truth of the story and was surprised to find that the ending wrapped around his life beyond his imagination. "between now and Sunrise" is Coppola's first self-financed film, costing only $7 million, which may explain why the film presents such a texture. Coupled with the need for 3D conversion in the later stage of the film, it is somewhat worrying. I hope Coppola will not be burdened by the low cost of the film. The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September. The exact release date has not yet been set.
