Early one morning, a dead woman appeared in a trench in a village. Under the investigation of the police, the wandering years of the deceased Mona (Sandrine Bernell Sandrine Bonnaire) were revealed. She camped around with a big bag, lived in a house with a homeless man, and smoked and slept together. An old woman's maid, Yuland, envied Mona and the tramp's ease and dissatisfaction with the simplicity and rudeness of her boyfriend Paul. One night Paul's burglary knocked the homeless man out, and Mona left without saying good-bye. Then she met a herding couple who gave her land and shelter in the hope that she would try to live a peaceful and secure life.
