Marx (James Woods is acted the role of) is the director of a small television station, in order to improve the ratings, Marx searched everywhere for dramas with pornographic or violent content. Marx's subordinate Harlan embezzled satellite signals to acquire a program called Film Field, which was about realistic and crude scenes of violent abuse. Marx couldn't forget it after watching it and lost interest in other episodes. Soon after Nicky (Deborah Harry), the radio anchor, met Marx, the masochistic woman was also attracted by the film and television field and went to Pittsburgh where the show might be produced to participate in the production. Professor Brian, the founder of Marx who was instructed to visit the film and television field, did not see the real person. the video sent by the professor with Nicky as the protagonist made Marx hallucinate. Marx visited again to know that Brian had already been killed. now that the film and television show is in charge of Barry, Marx has fallen into the trap designed by Barry step by step, getting deeper and deeper between Barry and Brian. This film won the best director award at the Canadian Gini Award in 1984.
