In the 1980s, Karen (Alison Lohman), a female journalist, is investigating the truth of a hotel murder 15 years ago. Lanny (Kevin Bacon) and Vince (Colin Firth) are famous partner entertainers. In 1972, when they were touring to raise money for charity, the body of a woman was found in their suite. Karen approached the two and got Lanny's autobiography manuscript. Lanny claimed that the deceased Maureen drowned because of a drug overdose, but Karen found that there were many doubts after corroborating Lanny's living habits and autobiography. Lanny and Vince had a successful career, so the underworld invited them to perform. One night, school newspaper reporter Maureen slept with them and inadvertently discovered Vince's homosexual tendencies and blackmailed them. Lanny suspected that the drug addict Vince killed Maureen, but both escaped sanctions under the protection of the underworld. While Karen was noncommittal about their respective statements, the real killer surfaced himself. This film won the Canadian Gini Award for Best Screenplay in 2006.
