Robert (Derrick De Marney), who is walking by the sea, accidentally finds the body of a woman. The scene of him living with the body is witnessed by two girls who call the police. To Robert's surprise, the murder weapon that killed the woman was the belt on his trench coat, which was stolen earlier and his whereabouts are unknown. The police certainly didn't believe Robert's story, and he was forced to stand on top of the court, waiting for the upcoming trial. Aggrieved Robert plucked up the courage to escape from the court, accidentally met the daughter of the police inspector Erica (Nova Pilbeam), kind and upright Erica determined to help Robert find his lost trench coat, find clues to prove his innocence. The two men followed the clue to the trench coat and learned that the thief who stole the trench coat had an important clue that he liked to blink, but there was nothing else. Robert, who was in despair, chose to turn himself in, and at this juncture, the real killer gave himself away.
