This is Netflix's first Brazilian original series, and the first season is directed by Academy Award nominee Cesar Charlone, starring Jo ã o Miguel and Bianca Comparato. The story describes that people have only one chance in a lifetime to get a better life and status, but everyone has to go through a cruel (and unfair) selection process-only 3% of the candidates succeed in the end. These lucky ones are superior to others in the social class, while others will face a terrible life of lack of electricity, water and food. Producers say that people living in society always go through a variety of "choice" (selection) processes-whether you like it or not-and that the show is intended to interpret the dynamic relationship behind "choice" (selection).
