The play tells the story of three couples or couples aged 30 and 40 who are chased and blocked by life in a fast-paced environment and strive to save themselves, thereby realizing their respective life values. Shen Lin (Yin Tao), who has been a full-time housewife for five years, encounters that her husband Na Wei (Wang Xiao) is unemployed, both husband and wife are unemployed, the second child is hungry, and the mortgage is approaching month by month. After Shen Lin's road back to the workplace frequently runs into obstacles, she chooses to become a self-employed household to achieve re-employment; Shen Lei (played by Qin Junjie), who graduated from a prestigious school, took the civil service exam and worked in the archives department of his unit.
