Little Fires Everywhere is adapted from Wu Yishi's novel "Little Fire" of the same name. The story takes place in a small town in Ohio in the 1990s. That summer, a fire burned down the Richardsons' house. Everyone thinks Elena Richardson (Reese Witherspoon)'s youngest daughter, Izzy, has done a "good thing", but she has disappeared. Izzy disappears with the tenant of the Richardson family: homeless artist Mia (Kerry Washington) and her daughter. They have silently challenged the truth that the family believes that a stable and good life must be carefully planned. Their appearance broke all kinds of shackles on Ichi, and Ichi found that he could never go back to the life of the past.
