The revival drama "Hawaiian Detective Magnum P.I." is similar in style to "Hawaii Five-0 of Paradise Law Enforcement" and is also set in Hawaii, but the protagonists are private detectives, and the old version was broadcast in 1980-1988. The new version is written by Peter Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim and directed by Lin Yibin. In this version, the protagonist is still the Gang of four, but unlike the old version, it is changed to three men and a woman. The plot tells the story of Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL, who puts his military skills into working as a private investigator after returning from Afghanistan, while his partners include former veterans Theodore "TC" Calvin and Orville "Rick" Wright, and the de-listed former MI6 agent Juliet Higgins, who work together to investigate all kinds of strange cases. Perdita Weeks plays Juliet Higgins, the writer Robin Masters's Hawaii.
