After their mother died, 16-year-old Frank Hardy and 12-year-old brother Joe moved from the big city to their mother's hometown of Bridgeport for the summer. Their father, Fenton, is convinced that his wife Laura's death was not accidental and left their aunt behind because he tracked down the clue boy. Frank and Joe began to solve the mystery by themselves, only to find that the secret was deeper than they thought. When children begin to believe that their mother's killer is in Bridgeport and suddenly everyone in the city is a suspect, the task of adapting to the new environment becomes more difficult!
