Tinted glasses is adapted from a true story that once caused a sensation in the United States. This film tells the story of a notorious injustice in which five teenagers known as the "Gang of five in Central Park" were wrongly convicted of rape. The four-episode limited series will focus on five teenagers in Harlem, namely, Antrone McRae, Kevin Richardson, Yusuf Sallam, Raymond Santana and Corey Wise. The story begins in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first questioned about the rape. The story spans 25 years, and the best part is that they were acquitted in 2002 and reached a settlement with New York City in 2014. Tinted glasses was created by Ava de Yolle, who is also a co-writer and director of the four episodes. Participant Media's Jeff Scole and Jonathan King, Harpo Films's Oprah Winfrey, Tribeca Productions's Jane Rosenthal, Berry Welsh and Robert de Niro will join Deyolle in her Forward Movement roles.
