1, in the small town of Fenara, engineer Swano (Kim Rossi Stuart) met the female teacher Carmen (in é s Sastre). They fell in love at first sight, but Carmen refused Swano's kiss. When they meet again three years later, Swano stops in front of sensuality; 2, in a seaside town, a director (John Malkovich) meets a beautiful woman (Sophie Marceau Sophie Marceau) while wandering around. She confessed to the director that she had killed her father. Instead of estranging, they fall in love; 3, in Paris, the wife leaves her unfaithful husband and meets Carlo who has lost his wife while renting a house (played by Jean Reno and Renault), and they seem to find common feelings; 4, the handsome boy falls in love with a girl (played by Irres è ne Jacob), who follows and confesses his love, only to know that she is going to dedicate herself to God. The film won the Silver Ribbon Award of the Italian Film journalists Association in 1996 and the Fabisie Award at the Venice Film Festival in 1995.
