San Francisco police officer Nick (Michael Douglas) receives orders to investigate a bizarre ice pick homicide. A popular rock star was tied to a bed and stabbed with an ice pick. After investigation, Nick discovered that the singer had a rotten life and went home with his girlfriend Katherine (Sharon Stone) before being killed. Catherine is an intelligent and capable best-selling author, beautiful and charming. During Nick's investigation, he found that Catherine slept with various men in order to vividly depict the various characters in the novel, including the murdered rock star. Nick discovered a plot describing the murder of a rock star in Katherine's new book, and Nick determined that Katherine was the murderer. During the tracing process, Nick gradually became fascinated by the beautiful Catherine. Can Nick finally find out the truth?
