Battle Hymn 6.4

Colonel Hess of the United States Air Force used to be a priest in Ohio. He joined the United States Air Force in World War II. During a mission to bomb Nazi Germany, he accidentally bombed an orphanage, killing 37 German orphans. After the war, he felt guilty and could not go back to preach, so he rejoined the US Air Force and came to the North Korean battlefield to train the first batch of fighter pilots for the South Korean Air Force. Under his training, the South Korean Air Force successfully completed a series of combat missions. A South Korean woman looks after more than a dozen Korean War orphans near the air base. During the war, Colonel Hess tried his best to protect and take care of the orphans. Later, he raised money to set up an orphanage to give Korean War orphans a home, which calmed his conscience.
