The Godmother will tell the story of Griselda Blanco's legendary and bloody life. In the early 1970s, Blanco used a private jet to transport Colombian cocaine to New York and became the largest drug supplier to the five mafia families. In addition to carrying more than 200 lives in the drug trade, her two husbands also died at her hands. Blanco was arrested in Florida in 1985, when her income from drug trafficking made her the richest woman in the world. After serving 19 years in prison, Blanco was repatriated to Colombia and has disappeared ever since. In September 2012, when she was buying meat at a butcher shop, she ended her legendary life by falling under a killer pistol in the way she was most familiar with. Two of her four sons were killed by guns because of their triad links, one was in prison in the United States, and the youngest suffered from mental disorders. Blanco, who is reported to be a fan of the mafia film the Godfather, named one of her sons after Mike Corleone, who starred in Al Pacino in the film.
