Single mother Sandra (Claire Dunn (Clare Dunne)) escaped abuse with her two young children, only to find herself trapped in a makeshift shelter. After months of struggle, she drew inspiration from one of her daughter's bedtime stories and came up with the idea of building her own affordable house. She found an architect who provided a plan for her and provided land for the female Harriet Walter she cleaned. Aido (Conleth Hill), the construction contractor, also seems willing to help. But as her past starts as rear as Ian Lloyd Anderson, and her possessive predecessors and bureaucrats struggle with her spirit of independence, can Sandra rebuild her life from scratch?
