When Corinne (Vera Famiga Vera Farmiga) was young, she was full of curiosity about everything around her, encountered a lot of growing confusion, and came into contact with religion. As an adult, she soon fell in love, got pregnant in a hurry, got married, married a rock musician, became a housewife, and gave up her writing dreams and religious beliefs. Married life is not as easy as Corinne expected. she even has to take her starving children on tour with her husband and a group of music friends, often feeling neglected. On the way to the tour, a car accident happened, and the family of three went to great pains to survive, which made Corinne have a religious tendency again. Everything seemed happy at first, but after dogmatic restraint, good friend brain cancer, and budding affairs, Corinne's faith was always shaken. The film is based on Caroline Briggs's autobiographical novel Dark World.
